Parade Season

Everyone knows summer is parade and car show season! Earlier this summer Wendy and the folks at Riverside Auto Center needed signs for their parade vehicles, so Smalltown got 'em set up right!

Seasoning For The Season...Or Anytime For That Matter

"It's only taken a couple dozen years"
- Scott.

One of Smalltown Design's greatest privileges and greatest joys is seeing someone's long held desire become a reality. Scott has been working on his All-Purpose Seasoning for decades, and now, with a little help from Smalltown, we are tickled to present Scott's All-Purpose Seasoning!

(...and yes, we use this seasoning on EVERYTHING! Rumor has it some folks even sprinkle it on their breakfast cereal)

Smalltown clients: Spoiler Alert! That box that arrives from Smalltown soon? Yep!

Everyone else? Hmmm...coming to an online market place in 2015?

I Can Personally Confirm...They Do Build It Right!

Smalltown Design has launched Fulton Quality Construction's new website. Tim and Annette Fulton, their son Rob, and the entire Fulton crew are the people you want for new construction and remodel projects - the best parts of our home have been remodeled by Fulton Quality Construction!

Vintage, Everyday Sophisticated and Smart

Looking for a great for gift for the man who has everything?

Check out new Smalltown client Honemeister Straight Razors.

Honemeister Straight Razors are American Honed in North Idaho, USA. All razors come with free lifetime honing (sharpening) and lifetime blade guarantee. Vintage, everyday sophisticated and smart, shave with Honemeister Straight Razors and accessories!

Hydrographics...Heard of it?

Smalltown Design welcomes new client Shawn and Casey Frederickson, owners & operators of Dawson Ridge Beetleworx's and Hydrographics.

Beetleworx? Dawson Ridge uses a special species of beetle to clean prize game skulls for display...yep...flesh eating beetles! This is part of a whitening process that preps the skulls for beautiful display. Dawson Ridge specializes in European Mounts.

Hydrographics? Now this is something you have to check out! Hydrographics takes graphic patterns and adhere's them to just about anything through a water dipping process. Guns, animal skulls, hard hats, truck rims, motorcycle fuel tanks, furniture, that kitchen blender that no longer matches the decor

...if it can be painted and fit in their tank they can transform it!

Watch for their website launch in the next week. It will include a huge gallery of their work and graphic pattern choices. Really gets your imagination going!

Fresh, Clean, Effective

Recently completed a stationary order for Larry Davis and the crew at Panhandle Countertops. Customized letter head and envelopes to match their business cards, website and brochures.

Larry, and Panhandle Countertops manager Daniel Yoder, see the value in having stationary that extends their job site professionalism to company commutations and promotion.

These letters will not get tossed out with the junk mail!

Old Friend, New Client

When we first bought our home, being our first home, we asked a lot of questions and lived out the proverb "there is wisdom in a multitude of counsel" (Proverbs 15:22, The Bible). One of those whom we sought counsel from was Tim Fulton.

We meet Tim at church in the first few months we lived in Bonners Ferry, so at the time we were just asking advice from our friend Tim. He gave us a great amount of confidence in purchasing our fixer-upper and helped us realize that we could handle much of the remodeling on our own.

In the years since we have gotten to know more of the Fulton family, namely Tim's wife Annette and their son Rob. Good advice? Reliability? Always willing to listen? Yeah, these are Fulton family & business trademarks.

We have also had the chance to get to know Fulton Quality Construction over the years as a contractor for work on our home. They took a disaster of a basement and created a beautiful daylight basement/"granny apartment" for us.

Now our relationship grows further as I am happy to count Fulton Quality Construction as a new client of Smalltown Design. I am looking forward to producing a product for them in the quality of the work, and friendship, that they have provided my family over the years.

Look for a new and fresh website for Fulton Quality Construction in the coming weeks.

Congratulations Sage Dixon!

Sage_Dixon_Logo_General-Election_Round.png

Congratulations to Sage Dixon on winning the election for Idaho House of Representatives, District 1B.

As noted in an earlier post, Sage is a Small Town client and friend.

Smalltown Design was happy to assist Sage, his wife Veronica, and the entire Dixon family in their campaign and now looks forward as Sage will represent the people of North Idaho (Boundary County and the majority of Bonner County)

New Look

We recently update Smalltown Design's own website.

The goals were to:

  • simplify multi-platform postings (one post=web & social media)
  • keep search engines happy with consistent & fresh content (news posts show up simultaneous on multiple pages)
  • make viewing on mobile devices more user friendly (just keep scrolling down!)
  • Continue exposure for existing Smalltown clients

To accomplish these goals, we switched to an index style page format - similar to work we did for Sage Dixon.

Overall the update met the goals and with continued management the site should increased client traffic!

(and yes...I simply grew tired of looking at the previous design! What can I say? =)

Representative

This is truly a first. Never have I been able to say that a candidate for a political office truly represented me as a constituent. Now, don't misread that...not reflected as in agreement in every facet...represented as in I know who the public servant is as a person, and they know me as such.

Four years ago when we purchased our home in Bonners Ferry we needed some electrical work done. We realized that we needed professional help after I cut into a live 220 line (sparks, a cloud of smoke, smell of burning chest hair, a singed pair of wire cutters and a understandably frightened wife).

As an electrician, Sage Dixon's reputation for quality of work, commitment, and communication preceded him and he proved those qualities in person.

Over the years our relationship has developed from contractor, to client (of Smalltown Design), to friend.

In a political arena some may say that because Sage is a friend and a client that my opinion of him would be biased...common sense says, it means I know him.

Sage is the Republican candidate for the Idaho House, District 1-B (covers most of Boundary and Bonner counties). This week Sage and his wife Veronica have a booth at the Bonner County Fair, stop by and get to know them first hand.

In November of this year, in the General Election, consider voting for Sage.

Personally, as a man of faith, a husband, a father, an employee, a business owner, living in North Idaho, I will be voting for Sage. Because Sage personally understands, and will represent me in every one of those roles.

Real Deal

Friend and client, Wade Brooks, is donating a 1st print of his image "Two Amigos" to a charity rodeo event in Grandview, WA. The event, Makin' 8 for Prostrate, is a fundraiser for cancer research. 3W Bucking Bulls is supplying the bulls, so if you are in the neighborhood stop by the Grandview Fairgrounds, September 13th @ 7PM and bid on Wade's print!

Wade, always looking to be professional, wanted a Certificate of Authenticity for the art piece. So Smalltown made up a simple certificate to be signed and notarized, adding value to the auction item and hopefully raising more money for the cause.

Check out more of Wade's work at wadebrooksphotography.com.

Small Town Family Fun!

Kyle Watt's and the crew from Woody's Gun & Pawn are sponsoring the Smash & Bash 2014 Demolition Derby. Smalltown was privileged to create Woody's logo earlier this year so we threw together a poster/FB page for this event.

Woody's brings a family environment to their business and will look to do the same for this "fun for the family" event.

Saturday - September 6th

Follow their Facebook page for more details as they become available and help promote the event!
