Automated!

After 20 years of design ideas, prototypes and trials, Travis Smith and Smith Industries, Inc. brings to market the Auto-Hatchet Pro - an automated kindling machine (they only one designed and manufactured in the USA). Affordable, compact, quite, reliable and easy to set up and operate, the Auto-Hatchet Pro is a great solution for anyone looking for part time income, a home business, or an additional revenue stream for an existing business.

Smalltown Design partnered with Smith Industries to create business cards, rack cards and a website for this great product.

Best Seat In The House

The Junior Class Parents (Bonners Ferry High School) wants you to have "The Best Seat in the House"! In an effort to raise funds for the Junior Class, parents will have a couch at the football games this season and raffle off tickets for "The Best Seat in the House". At each game a winner will be selected and gets to pick 2 other people to sit with them on the couch, in the middle of the stands, get a free dinner/drinks and 2 high school attendants to run and get them whatever they want.

For this fundraiser a brand new couch was donated by Becks Furniture and Smalltown Design created a banner for promotion.

Get comfy and enjoy the game!

Coming soon to BFHS volleyball and basketball games!

8' x 2' Banner

The parents smartly ordered the banner minus the "Class of 2016" - this will allow future Junior Classes to use the same banner in the years to come.

Revive

Aspire, the Women's Ministry @ Mountain Spring Church, has a monthly event "Revive". They are smartly using "business cards" as a cost efficient way to communicate the event details.

Product Research - Part 2

The second product Smalltown Design is currently evaluating is Freshdesk. Freshdesk is built as an Online Customer Service solution, focused primarily on IT support and General Customer Support.

Product Research - Part 1 Social Media Management "Hootsuite"

Smalltown has taken advantage of custom options built into Freshdesk to provide larger volume customers the online ability to request new projects, monitor project progress, and produce productivity reports.

Once a client request is placed, Smalltown connects directly with the requester through an ongoing online chat, providing convenience and a centralized project management point (no looking for random emails!).

Product Research - Excuse Our Dust!

Product Research in Process at Smalltown! Testing out two new tools this month:

Tool #1 - Social Media Management tool Hootsuite

During a recent process review it became clear the time had come for a Social Media Management solution. Smalltown Designs, LLC. manages, or consults through administrator level permissions 15+ Social Media profiles, with many of these profiles consisting of 2-3 Social Media accounts (Twitter/Facebook/Google+/Etc.). So one "post" often needs to be scheduled to post on multiple channels, and mentions be monitored from each of those channels.

Through input from professional partners, and doing the requisite Google "reviews" search, the list was narrowed to 3 potential Tools: Hootsuite, Buffer and Sprout. All three options present a wide variety of features and surprisingly different approaches to Social Media Management. Sprout was the most highly recommended by the professional and may end up as the long term solution, but it is a bit pricey for our initial introduction. So Smalltown decided on the most popular solution and has begun a trial with the Pro Version of Hootsuite.

Will update on the trial process!

Update: Initial scheduled post through Hootsuite to 3 Smalltown Design social media accounts.

Regional Landmark Reborn

The Hemlocks is a long standing establishment that began as a full service restaurant.  Over the years – through several owners – the motel and then the RV Park were added.  In 2013, Tammy and Will Hedrick purchased The Hemlocks and with great joy have been working to revive the rustic atmosphere of the much beloved restaurant and facilities...from hemlockslodging.com.

Smalltown Designs has been honored to partner with Will & Tammy Hedrick in resurrecting the Boundary County landmark establishment - The Hemlocks.

We have created for The Hemlocks: Website w/ an online Reservation plugin, Google+ account and Business Listing, Brochure, Business Cards, Magnetic Truck Door Signs, and merged multiple Facebook pages,.

At last report Will & Tammy are booking RV, Cabin and Tent Camping clients at a record rate this season!

Opening Soon: Motel section of Hemlocks Lodging!

Congratulations Will & Tammy on the growing business!

Seasoning For The Season...Or Anytime For That Matter

"It's only taken a couple dozen years"
- Scott.

One of Smalltown Design's greatest privileges and greatest joys is seeing someone's long held desire become a reality. Scott has been working on his All-Purpose Seasoning for decades, and now, with a little help from Smalltown, we are tickled to present Scott's All-Purpose Seasoning!

(...and yes, we use this seasoning on EVERYTHING! Rumor has it some folks even sprinkle it on their breakfast cereal)

Smalltown clients: Spoiler Alert! That box that arrives from Smalltown soon? Yep!

Everyone else? Hmmm...coming to an online market place in 2015?

I Can Personally Confirm...They Do Build It Right!

Smalltown Design has launched Fulton Quality Construction's new website. Tim and Annette Fulton, their son Rob, and the entire Fulton crew are the people you want for new construction and remodel projects - the best parts of our home have been remodeled by Fulton Quality Construction!

Mmmm...Those Were Gooood!!

As we prepare the 2014 Smalltown client Christmas gifts I could not help but ever so fondly recall last year's gifts - the chocolate and coconut "After's". Let me tell you, it was SUCH a burden to be the official quality controller/taste tester of those home made goodies!!!! Mmmmmmm...

This year's client gifts will be...
